Today we celebrated Lag B’Omer, marking the 33rd day of counting the Omer, and a day of celebration between Pesach and Shavuot. As well as special assemblies in the Hall the children enjoyed various activities during their JS lessons including painting fiery scenes, outdoor picnics and pretend bonfire building and all the children enjoyed a festive BBQ style lunch with burgers and s’mores.

In the Lag B’Omer assemblies we explored the theme of the festival; to love others as you love yourself. At Sinai this is something we reiterate to the children through our school rules – to always be kind. We spoke to the children about taking care of each other and the importance of giving a compliment. The children then paid each other compliments based on a person’s character. At Sinai we pride ourselves on our big heart and this was really brought home at Lag B’Omer.
