Safeguarding at Sinai
At Sinai we take Safeguarding extremely seriously. It is everyone’s responsibility.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as: • protecting children from maltreatment; • preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development; • ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and • taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
All staff have a responsibility to provide a safe environment in which children can learn.
We educate the children and the parents about Safeguarding and every member of Sinai staff is Safeguarding trained. In addition we have a fully trained Safeguarding team at Sinai which includes the following members of staff:
Mrs Matlin – Designated Safeguarding Lead (in charge of keeping everyone safe at school)
Mrs Lane – Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (in charge of Wellbeing at school)
Mrs Berkovi – Safeguarding Team (in charge of Inclusion at school)
Mrs Lipshaw – Headteacher and Safeguarding Team
Mrs Solomons – Safeguarding Breakfast and After School Clubs
The children can also always talk to our onsite School Counsellor or any other member of the Sinai staff.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and this principle is built into the culture and fabric of our school. If you have any questions or concerns please know you too can always speak, in confidence, to Mrs Matlin our Designated Safeguarding Lead – kmatlin@sinai.brent.sch.uk
