Year 2 are learning about The Great Fire of London as part of our their History topic. Yesterday they were transported back to 1666 and visited Thomas Farriner at his bakery on Pudding Lane in London. The children caught a shock when we noticed a fire beginning to spread. Luckily Samuel Pepys (brought to life by Mr Lax) came along and wrote his diary and the children heard all about the events of the Great Fire – and considered why we no longer build houses out of wood.
