Year 1 are looking at the features of instructional writing (using a verb, headings and time conjunctions) via a carousel of different activities. They were making jam sandwiches, following a clear set of instructions - such as wash your hands, take a slice of bread, spread the margarine etc. They were also drawing a picture and giving instructions to a friend on how this can be copied, working together they were making a tower of cubes and also following the instructions in a game of snakes and ladders. A fun and hands on way of learning this morning.
